There are issues like meta tags, script sizes, image size, key words , Title ,description tags etc. Other that the SEO (Search Engine Optimisation Issues) you should also ensure that it meets the various WWW standards like X HTML,CSS Validation ,Markup Validation.

There are a variety of online tools which do this job for you. But I have found a useful software which bundles all online tools into one single software "Site Inspector" by Paessler.

This is a free ware edition and I have found it very useful personally for SEO analysis. Some of the useful features of this software is listed below

1. Provides a facility to see your page how it is rendered in Firefox and Internet ,time taken and any specific issues while rendering the page

2.It does an extensive Page analysis of the URLs which you provide and give you a detailed report .This information is very important as it gives u an idea of the sizes of the various objects used in the web page.(A similar report also provided by online tool websiteoptimisation.com and is more elaborate.A link to this tool and similar useful tools is already provided within this software)

3.There is a third option which provides HTTP Analysis. This is useful for those who are
hosting their own website. It gives you statistics about HTTP headers ,DNS information etc

4. Finally it provides links of useful online tools for amateur bloggers, users who reall
y are interested in monitoring their site statistics like Page Ranking, Page Speed,Broken links,HTML evaluator,Script analysis, down times etc. These are really powerful tools when used.
